What the people Say? (Continued)

Carolyn's professional name should be 'Miss Motivator'

Carolyn's professional name should be 'Miss Motivator' though she is of course supremely fit! She has taken an overweight, sedentary 54 year old with a bored and half-hearted approach to working out in the gym and turned her into a dedicated (though still less than ecstatic!) and regular gym-goer. The benefits of the programme she has developed with me over 12 sessions, can be seen in numerous ways not least in the one to two sizes reduction of my trousers / jeans.

I feel stronger, my posture and flexibility have improved dramatically

I feel stronger, my posture and flexibility have improved dramatically and my back pain has almost disappeared due to a combination of Chiropractic treatment (Carolyn's personal recommendation) and the gentle and careful stretching exercises and resistance training Carolyn has taught me. "She is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, persuasive and determined and the fact that she obviously loves her work and takes a genuine delight in her client's progress is hugely influential on her success. I have enjoyed every single one of my sessions with her, even though I may have arrived at the gym feeling like "death warmed up". I always leave feeling invigorated and feeling like a "new woman". I recommend her without recommendation.

I lost 10 inches collectively and nearly 2 stone

For the past 8 months Carolyn has been my Personal Trainer. And what an excellent Personal Trainer! The workouts have been enjoyable, varied and very sweaty! "I lost 10 inches collectively and nearly 2 stone. Carolyn is a great motivator and I have really enjoyed her company even though she put me through my paces. I have and will continue to recommend her to my friends.

an hour with Carolyn did my body more good than several on my own

After several years of aerobics and half-hearted attempts at running around parks, I turned to Carolyn for motivation and effective training. We started off with an assessment and she convinced me to try resistance training and Swiss Ball exercises. I always found strength training tedious before and like all women would moan "oh, but I don't want muscle", however Carolyn made these exercises were challenging, never boring and incredible effective. I never intended to train with Carolyn for as long as I did, but I found my confidence and energy increased so much that I wanted to push myself harder. She helped me improve my running and I can now run further and faster than ever before. When I left Brighton I was sad to leave my personal training behind. I have learned so much that I can now go into a gym and workout effectively, but I do miss her guidance and gentle pressure to push myself.

"I can honestly say that an hour with Carolyn did my body more good than several on my own. In fact, I had the best figure I have ever had."

Carolyn is a really fun and enthusiastic person, the hour would go quickly and we always had a laugh. I would recommend her to anyone, without a moment's hesitation.

She is extremely professional and is very knowledgeable

I first decided I would like to try Personal Training when I had entered for the Race for Life about 8 months ago. I had seen Carolyn training in the gym and thought it was probably the only thing that would motivate me. I have really enjoyed the sessions and think that it is a great way to learn how to do the various exercises properly. I have particularly enjoyed being taught about the Swiss ball and how it can improve your core stability. Having the weekly sessions has kept my motivation up and for the first time I have continued to go to the gym on a regular basis. Carolyn explains the different exercises and what muscle groups you are working, she has also catered my programme to what I want to achieve.

"She is extremely professional and is very knowledgeable about the health & fitness industry and her fantastic fun yet motivational approach inspired me so much I decided to become a Personal Trainer also."

I have achieved better results with Carolyn than I have ever before

"I always found it difficult to maintain enthusiasm to sustain going to the gym for longer than 3/4 weeks, but since I have begun sessions with Carolyn this has all changed. Carolyn's motivational approach, introduction of a varied programme & most importantly the guidance to ensure correct technique, has fuelled my motivation & achieved results that I would not have managed without the one on one training. I feel physically fitter & stronger & now really enjoy my gym sessions"

"The one-on-one training has significantly increased the effectiveness of my workout & I have achieved better results with Carolyn than I have ever before."

A perfect combination all in one trainer!

Carolyn is a very, very, good motivator due to her effervescent personality - she fairly fizzes with excitement, which is intoxicating in the sense that it helps me overcome any initial reticence for the usual slog that training can be. Combine this ability to encourage and with her massage expertise, (I often have a sports massage prior to my weekend rugby) you have the perfect combination all in one trainer: the push and enthusiasm to train hard plus the relaxation of a good muscle rub down after.

"A perfect combination all in one trainer!"

Carolyn seems to constantly come up with more challenging exercises

After my wife and children had stopped laughing at my suggestion of getting a PT I was given Carolyn's name. A week later we started and it is certainly one of the more sensible decisions I have made. It seems to me it is very easy to get training wrong (and that is when damage is done) and difficult to get it right! In fact you usually know when you're doing things the right way because it is difficult! I now train 3-4 times a week with a gym ball and weights, which Carolyn is showing me how to use. For my sport, competitive Polo: Carolyn recommended 'core stability' training as all-important and the gym ball helps provide this. The great thing about it is the variety that can be introduced, so for people like me who get bored quickly it is the ideal way to train. As my training advances Carolyn seems to constantly come up with more challenging exercises - and just when I think I'm working all my muscles well, I discover another one I don't seem to have used for years!

"In fact I can now say I've started to enjoy training. I'm certainly enjoying the results!"

I feel a lot healthier than I did 6 months ago and am really pleased that I am much more toned now than I ever have been

I decided to join the gym in a (very) late attempt to implement my New Year's resolution to get fit. As I am not particularly keen on physical exercise and sports (I had not participated in any form of activity for more than 3 years!) I knew I needed someone to help motivate me so I decided to get in touch with Carolyn. She created a programme that took into consideration my likes and dislikes of certain equipment and my personal fitness goals. Initially I was quite adamant I did not like certain machines, however, Carolyn encouraged me to try different things. She built things up slowly but steadily and this gave me a real sense of achievement. By allowing me to work at my own pace I progressed well and it ensured I was not put off completely by pushing me too hard.

I now work out on average 3 times a week and the CV activities I enjoy most (running and rowing) are the things I thought I would like least when I started out: Carolyn introduced me to the fitness ball and free weights, which I had never tried before.

"I feel a lot healthier than I did 6 months ago and am really pleased that I am much more toned now than I ever have been. Carolyn has given me a real sense of achievement!

I still see Carolyn and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future: She's a great motivator and ensures that I keep challenging myself!"
